FEEDBACK ON THE SOUTH
AFRICAN GOVERNMENT’S SECRET TRILLION-RAND NUCLEAR COURT CASE JUDGEMENT
On
the 26th April 2017, Earthlife Africa-JHB and the Southern African
Faith Communities’ Environment Institute (SAFCEI) finally blocked the unlawful
and unconstitutional actions of the South African government in its nuclear
deal. We are immensely grateful for the support and encouragement we have
received from Earth Keepers all over the world – it is only through this that
we have been able to prevail in the face of all odds. But as much as we
celebrate this ruling, we are also mindful that there is still much work to be
done. The court case win is a strong step in the direction of energy justice,
but we need to keep holding government to account to ensure that transparency
and accountability don’t fall by the wayside again. To achieve a sustainable
and just energy future for South Africa, we would like to pave the way forward
together with you through continuous dialogues as well as through your generous
support. Moreover, we have
successfully launched the Active Citizens Network to work towards a more
compassionate and just world.
SAFCEI
and SDCEA invites you to a NUCLEAR Court Case Update where you will be able to
engage and become more informed about the current state of the campaign, and
get clarification and answers
to some of your questions.
